You are the gull, Jo, strong and wild, fond of the storm and the wind,
flying far out to sea, and happy all alone.

I’m Hallie, and I learn out loud
The problem with being an external processor is that sometimes it gives people a front-row seat to your most humbling efforts to learn and grow. I’m trying to embrace that as a feature, not a bug, because I think we could all use more opportunities to see people in the messy middle, still somewhere between who they were and who they’re going to be, not quite polished up and presentable yet. In reality, that’s where we all are, so we might as well admit to it.
About me: 31. Wife and mom. Nondenominational-evangelical-turned-Anglican. Bigtime Bible nerd. Not at all interested in looking for ways to tell God what He is allowed to do in the world. Born and raised Washingtonian. Amateur dahlia farmer. Massively hypersensitive to noise, feeling trapped, and scary movies.
“Thus says the Lord, ‘Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,’ declares the Lord.”
