this is me: things you should know
/Background
- I'm a Christian, and I place a very high value on viewing every area of life from the perspective of God's Word. I try to test my natural tendencies, personal preconceptions, and cultural background against the truth of the Bible, rather than the other way around.
- I often write about what is hurting me. Don't be alarmed when you read my posts. We all have bad days where nothing goes right and life seems depressing - and I want to be honest about that, so that others can feel safe to be honest, too. Sometimes that means I get frantic phone calls from friends who think I need to be talked off the ledge (haha sorry guys), but people who really know me have gotten used to seeing bits of the darkest places of my mind and know that I don't do it out of desperation or drama, but to open myself up to light and healing.
- I didn't follow the pattern for starting off a typical American adulthood. I was homeschooled until my junior year, had a mix of public high school and community college classes till I graduated, and then moved to Florida for a year of intensive Bible study with twelve other students. Less than a year later, at age 20, I got married, and I've been learning how to be a wife ever since. I don't have any college degrees or a fancy career, but what I always wanted most was to know God better... a process I will never get tired of.

"The more authentic and honest you are in your interaction with the world, both professionally and personally, the better you will be placed to do the kind of work which will touch others and move their hearts and minds. Because if you mean it, chances are it will mean something to somebody else." - Tom Hiddleston

Thus says the Lord, βLet not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,β declares the Lord. - Jeremiah 9:23-24
